             Principle: After the filtration is completed, compressed air or liquid is introduced into the space between the membrane and the filter plate, causing the membrane to expand and carry out a secondary pressing on the filter cake to squeeze out the residual moisture in the filter cake.
             Function: It significantly reduces the moisture content of the filter cake and increases the solid content rate of the filter cake, facilitating subsequent transportation and treatment.  At the same time, it shortens the entire filtration cycle and improves the working efficiency of the filter press.

          Can the Pressure System of the Membrane Squeezing Be the Same as the Pressure System of the Filter Press Itself?
           The pressure system of the membrane squeezing and the pressure system of the filter press itself can be the same or independent of each other, which mainly depends on the design and configuration of the filter press.   The following is a detailed introduction for you
            Shared Pressure System: For some small or more compactly designed filter presses, in order to simplify the structure and reduce costs, the same set of pressure system may be used to simultaneously achieve the pressing of the filter plates and the membrane squeezing.  However, in this case, it is necessary to switch through the control system and valves to meet different pressure requirements at different stages.  For example, the pressures required for pressing the filter plates and membrane squeezing are different, and interference between them should be prevented.
          Independent Pressure System: For large filter presses or when dealing with special materials and having high process requirements, an independent membrane squeezing pressure system is often adopted.  In this way, the pressing force of the filter plates and the membrane squeezing pressure can be more precisely controlled according to actual needs.  Parameters such as the pressing pressure and pressing time can be flexibly adjusted to adapt to the characteristics of different materials, improving the dehydration effect and the operational stability of the equipment.  At the same time, the independent system can also prevent the failure of one system from affecting the operation of the other system, improving the overall reliability of the equipment.
          Specific Steps of Membrane Squeezing
            Preparation Work: Confirm that the filtration stage is basically completed and a certain thickness of the filter cake has been formed in the filter chamber.  At the same time, check whether the power system (such as the hydraulic or pneumatic system) for the membrane squeezing and the status of the relevant pipeline valves are normal to ensure there is no leakage.
          Feeding of the Squeezing Medium: Start the water pump and inject high-pressure water into the closed chamber between the membrane and the filter plate through a specific pipeline system.  Since the membrane is elastic, the injection of high-pressure water will cause the membrane to expand and deform.  If it is a pneumatic system, turn on the air compressor and deliver the compressed air to the corresponding chamber to make the membrane expand.
            Pressure Control and Maintenance: According to the characteristics of the materials and process requirements, adjust the pressure valve of the power system to adjust the squeezing pressure to an appropriate value, and maintain the pressure stable within the set time to continuously squeeze the filter cake to discharge more moisture.
          Pressure Release: After reaching the predetermined pressing time, open the corresponding pressure relief valve and slowly release the pressure in the membrane chamber to make the membrane return to its original state.
